Key Club Sponsorships

Key Clubs from several Division 30 South High Schools meet to review past and future projects and have some fun.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim supports seven Key Clubs. Each club plans and participates in community service projects, conducts Key Club meetings, mentors other students and learns valuable leadership skills.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim is proud of its Key Clubs which inspire through their shining service and give everyone faith that the future of this nation is in good hands. KCGA is currently sponsoring the following Kiwanis Key clubs:

Anaheim High School
Loara High School
Savanna High School
Western High School

Katella High School
Rosary High School
Servite High School

Kiwanis K-Kids Club Sponsor

Our Kiwanis club brings in food and treats and recognizes, supports and encourages the kids, through example, so they feel empowered to do great things in their communities. We support Builders Club service projects, facilitate the Builders Club meetings, provide mentorships. We sponsor the Kiwanis K-Kids Club at Anaheim’s Betsy Ross Elementary School.

Scholarships for High School Seniors

Our annual scholarship awards presentation is held each Spring. In 2019 KCGA presented $30,000.00 worth of scholarship funds to outstanding graduates who were eligible, many from the Anaheim Union High School District. The KCGA scholarship foundation is supported with personal contributions, business donations, estate gifts from our members and several of our fund raising activities. The KCGA Foundation, over the past 50 plus years, has awarded nearly $600,000.00 in scholarship funds to over 430 Seniors. The KCGA Foundation is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation, founded in December 1965.

Kiwanis High School All-Star Baseball Game

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim sponsored its first Orange County High School All-Star Baseball Game in 1968.  Each year this exhibition game and the banquet which precedes it offer recognition to the county’s top graduating senior baseball players.  The game provides each player one final chance to compete with other high school players while family and friends are there to send them on to new challenges in their young lives.

2019 marked the 52nd year for this great game. Over the years more than 140 KCGA All-Star players have gone on to compete in Major League Baseball.  Many of them played in hundreds of games while others only appeared in a few.

Bringing Up Grades (B.U.G.) Awards

Our Kiwanis club presents nearly 1500 award certificates to elementary school students who have improved their grades or some other aspect of their educational performance. Each teacher in the Anaheim Elementary District chooses two students to receive a B.U.G. Award. A KCGA member attends every school awards ceremony where they personally present each B.U.G. certificate. In most cases these awards are given to students who are not used to getting awards.
